A modern and stylish hotel overlooking the River Clyde, with a direct link to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Crowne Plaza Glasgow is an excellent choice for the business and leisure travellers and has recently achieved the HotelReviewScotland award for Glasgow Hotel of the Year 2007 and Scottish Conference Hotel 2009.
283 air conditioned contemporary bedrooms and suites with wireless internet access. Spacious Club Rooms boasting Kingsized beds with stunning river views, plasma screens and exclusive access to the Club Lounge, with complimentary refreshments, to relax or hold informal meetings.
The Leisure Club includes an indoor pool, equipped gym, sauna, spa and steam room.
Car parking
There is an open-air car park to the rear of the hotel and there are 300 spaces in total. A daily parking charge does usually apply however, all participants in the event will receive complimentary car parking.
Special needs provision
There are 2 accessible bedrooms in the hotel and there are lifts to all floors in the hotel including the conference and events suites. Any guests with accessible needs will be offered an orientation of the hotel and the hotel will also complete a personal emergency evacuation procedure so we have the details of any assistance required in the event of an emergency. The hotel is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
There are accessible toilets on each of the public floors in the hotel and there are large print menus in the restaurant and lounge.
There is an induction loop at reception for guests who are hard of hearing. The hotel carries a stock of vibrating pillows so the guests can place these under their pillow and be alerted in the event of an emergency arising in the hotel.
Fire evacuation
There are also safe refuge areas on every other level of the hotel where there are evacuation chairs. There is also a designated fire team on hand each with specific roles to fulfil in the event of an emergency. Guests can remain in the safe refuge points until the fire brigade are on site.
If the fire alarm sounds a voice automated message and siren will be heard. Upon the fire alarm being activated please leave the building by the nearest available exit, and assemble at the fire point. The fire assembly points are outside the main entrance to the Argyle Suite and also the hotel car park. Please do not use lifts or elevators at this time. Hotel staff will be present to assist with the evacuation.

QMH is committed to using its reasonable endeavours, whilst continuing to run a successful business, to work with, and positively influence, the contribution made and the efforts undertaken by its team members to minimise any negative effects and enhance those that are positive.
Environmental impact
- Levels of energy consumption and practical ideas to reduce wastage within QMH are constantly under review, with new initiatives being identified and implemented wherever possible
- QMH has a clear and practical environmental policy statement (see above)
- Annual maintenance contracts are in place for regular servicing of all major plant and equipment in the boiler rooms, kitchen, leisure and housekeeping areas to ensure energy efficiency
- A number of waste management initiatives are currently being employed, including recycling of paper, card, glass and printer cartridges. Where possible, qualified waste removal contractors have been appointed
- The majority of QMH Hotels have a combined Heat & Power (CHP) Production Unit that is recognised by the Government as an energy efficient device
- We operate an ongoing energy saving culture in which team members are actively encouraged to participate and take ownership
- Low energy lighting was fitted throughout the hotel estate by 31 December 2008
- Our Central Corporate Office recycles waste paper and where possible purchases recycled paper
- During the course of any cyclical product upgrading we endeavour to include energy and water saving devices
- A number of our Hotels operate an in-room energy system controlled by the guest's key
- All our guests are requested to minimise the waste in the usage of towels, laundry and energy
- All company emails have a notification on them for receivers to 'think before they print'
- The majority of company information is shared with team members via the Companies' Intranet rather than paper based
- Where practical, we offer the facility to send all collateral invoices and other materials to our customers electronically
- PIR motion sensors have been installed in public facilities at a number of our hotels reducing water and energy consumption
Providing a safe work environment
- We are subject to and comply with the Franchisor Brand Standards Audit on a regular basis to ensure appropriate Health and Safety procedures are in place
- A comprehensive Health and Safety Management Policy is in place that is regularly updated to reduce risk and protect guests and staff in accordance with legislation and represents best practice; this forms an essential part of the safe environment for guests and staff
- We employ an external Health and Safety Consulting company to inspect and report on compliance within the Hotels on a regular basis
- Health and Safety refresher training is carried out annually with participants being assessed online
- A Health & Safety committee drawn from all areas of the business meets quarterly to ensure that we manage our policies effectively and remain compliant with legislation
- All sites have qualified first aiders enabling us to provide 24/7 coverage
- Team members undergo regular training in fire evacuation with appointed fire wardens
- Fire evacuation procedures are displayed in all rooms and corridors and organisers are briefed upon arrival
- We have clear accident reporting policy
- Risk assessments in all areas are carried out regularly and reviewed
